Holiness Institute – Reflections – Spiritual Life Development

A few weeks ago, 39 soldiers from around the USA Eastern Territory gathered at the Crestview Conference Center at THQ for the 2015 Holiness Institute: “Sanctify Us By Your Word.” Every year, Spiritual Life Development department and Major Young Sung Kim, the territorial Ambassador for Holiness, offer the Holiness Institute for soldiers throughout the territory. The Holiness Institute is a learning community for seeking and practicing the life of Christlikeness in the ministry of The Salvation Army.

The Holiness Institute equips YOU…

To encounter the doctrine and Spirit of holiness in faithful community for the sanctification of life in mission.
To exalt the Lord Jesus as Savior from sin.
To endorse the experience by testimony of voice and life.
To inspire soldiers to spread the gospel and led people to victory through Christ.

It is difficult to pinpoint one thing that stood out. For me, the entire weekend was a process. More than the incredible teachings, more than the friendly delegates…I think above all was the way the precious Holy Spirit moved in so many lives; including my own. There was no “ah-ha” moment for me, but a continual filling. Like the rain on the hillsides-if it pours, the water does not seep in, just runs off. It has to be a slow process. So the water can reach the roots. God touched my spirit slowly, but completely. I learned much about myself those few days. But what touched me most was the special remembrances of how God loves us…loves me.
