Would you like an idea for all the old Salvation Army Songbooks now cluttering up your shelves?

Try Songbook Journaling.  This takes regular, everyday journaling to a whole new level.  This exercise gives the opportunity to think outside the box and be creative.  It doesn’t matter whether you are an artist or not, simply express yourself through words, colors and pictures.

Songbook Journaling was the topic of a recent THQ Chapel Service.  Those in attendance were directed to find a favorite song, read over the verses and be attentive to the word or phrase they were drawn to.  Hold that word or phrase and see what emotions, pictures, colors or additional words were conjured up in their minds and then put it on the page where the song is found.

Look at the results!

*This journaling idea was conceived by our Women’s Ministries Department.  For more great ideas from Women’s Ministries and some other examples of Songbook Journaling go to their Facebook and Pinterest pages.
