God has designed us for holistic growth. . . physically, mentally, emotionally and most definitely spiritually. If you are hungry for more of what the Lord has to do in you and through you, Cultivate/Cultive will help give focus to what is needed to “have the roots of your being firmly and deeply planted in Him.” Colossians 2:7
The mission of Cultivate/Cultive is to facilitate deeper spiritual life development in the lives of officers and soldiers of The Salvation Army.
Christ must continually be formed in us by:
- the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2)
- the work of the Holy Spirit (John 16)
- the role of spiritual disciplines (Romans 12:1)
- being part of Community (1 Corinthians 12)
- living out our faith for the sake of others (Matthew 28:18-20)
Cultivate/Cultive introduces or rejuvenates the officer/soldier to classic Christian writers and tried and true disciplines which stimulate growth and maturity and, with an openness to the Holy Spirit, gives rise to a lifetime of spiritual health.

TESTIMONIALS
Captain Faith Miller (Cultivate Cohort 1)
“Cultivate has helped to deepen my understanding that in community we learn of our individual responsibilities to God, but also our corporate responsibilities to one another.”
Soldier Cheryl Poulopoulos (Cultivate Cohort 1) “When I first heard about Cultivate I knew that was what I needed… we spend a great amount of time studying the importance and interconnection of the disciplines, not just studying the fact that they need to be practiced.”
Major Janneke Rozema (Cultivate Cohort 3)
“Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of the Cultivate and Holiness retreat. The text, “O Lord, open my lips, that my mouth may declare Your praise”. Psalm 51:15 NIV, is resounding in my heart and mind. I enjoyed the lectures, worship, fellowship, the good organization and food. It was wonderful. The Lord blessed me richly.
I am sure that the deeper understanding of faith and holiness will be helpful in my ministry. It is my desire to share this with my brothers and sisters where I serve.”
