Christmas Tree Pic Advent is so much more than lighting candles in a wreath during the worship service the four weeks before Christmas. “Advent” means “arrival of a notable person or event”. For the Church Advent means “the coming of Jesus, either in the Incarnation of biblical times or in the Second Coming at the end of the world.”

Teaching our children to anticipate the coming of Christ into their hearts at Christmas and at His second coming is a wonderful legacy. May this simple Advent Calendar craft foster joy at the thought of the coming of Jesus.

The directions for the Advent Calendar that follows is so simple anyone can lead this craft class and those as young as age three can make one. This is a great Sunday School project to prepare your children for Advent, or a wonderful family activity.

The daily activity sheet (for December 1-25) not only assists in remembering the coming of the Christ Child, but stimulate Christian service and family memories.  (click here to download the daily activity sheet)
